Located in the "Pelican" complex, this renovated 3 bedroom home is very unique. With a view overlooking the pool, this home consists of a 2 bedroom ( queen and 2 twins) and 1.5 baths plus a seperate detached "inlaw suite" with 1 bedroom ( Queen), kitchen with full size fridge and stove and one full bath.
This home has been totally updated and is perfect for larger families or extended families. Both units have full kitchens and is perfect for entertaining. Ammenities such as smart TV's, internet, coffee makers, beach chairs and beach towels are included. This property is located just south of the enterance to the Palm Island Resort. Overlooking the community pool, this home is located directly across the street from the beach and also features dock located on the Yacht Basin which is deep water with no bridges to get to the ICW or Gulf of Mexico
Have you vacationed on the island before? Palm Island a.k.a. Don Pedro Island, is a barrier island 7 miles long between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on the Gulf coast with sugar-sand beaches, beautiful harbors and lagoons, great fishing and shelling only accessible by a short 10 minute car ferry or private boat. Our beaches are some of the most pristine and quiet in all of coastal Florida. There are no high rises blocking your Gulf views, unpaved sandy roads, and a relaxed "Old Florida" atmosphere. There is one restaurant called the Rum Bay that serves lunch and dinner. The car ferry runs continually from 6:30 am until 10:00 pm from Sunday through Thursday and until 11:00 pm Friday and 12:00 midnight Saturday. You drive your car onto the ferry and then directly to your vacation rental home. It's a very special place to vacation. We have kayak rentals and golf cart rentals for your use during your vacation. All of our properties on Palm Island require a ferry ride to get there. One round trip on the ferry for car and passengers costs $55. The alternative is to purchase a book of 10 round trips for $380, or $38 per round trip. For more information on the ferry, google Palm Island Transit.
Pet Policy: This home is Pet Friendly home. This means that ONE dog is permitted to stay at the rental. No cats are permitted in any of our properties. Certain aggressive breeds as designated by the State of Florida and outlined in our rental contract are not permitted. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

Summary: House had everything we needed! Great stay and set up for our family. Grandma came with us so the in law suite was perfect space for her to have away from the teenagers! Beach was only a short walking distance. Many great memories made! Definitely recommend this home for a family looking to get away!

Summary: My family had a place on Little Gasperilla for the past 19 years and decided to sell it this past year. I booked this vacation as we had never stayed on Palm Island (same island, just other end of island for those of you not familiar with location). The convenience of being able to drive to this area (granted you must take a ferry across but the process was incredibly easy) can not be overstated. In all of Florida there is not a more beautiful area- the beaches are pristine, very few visitors, crystal clear water, gorgeous wildlife. I even got to see an eastern coachwhip snake (harmless) which I have never seen despite living here my entire life. The property was lovely- very spacious with lots of windows. You can see the ocean from the living room and the master bedroom. We brought our boat and they do have a dock that was easily accessible. The layout of the unit worked great for my family as we relegated the mother-in-law suite to my snoring father, while the rest of us had plenty of space in the main house. We will stay here again until I convince my husband that we need to buy another place here. I just love it too much… and once you stay here you too will be addicted.

Summary: Perfectly situated with a dock on the canal out the back door and the ocean (via a lovely courtyard pool) out the front door. Very well set up with a separate in-law building sharing the deck (great for my grown sons). Plenty of outdoor seating spaces. Nicely appointed house, very relaxing.

Summary: When I decided to escape the harsh New England winter this year and head to Palm Island, Blue Heron was the perfect choice. With the main house and in law suite design...it was absolutely perfect for visiting friends and family to have their own privacy and space. The grounds are beautiful with the pool just steps away, along with a dock for a boat (which I had shipped down) Blue Heron was very clean, comfortable, homey and charming. The rental agency was quick to respond to small issues: an empty gas tank for the grill, problem with the dryer, some questions...Palm Island Stays is amazing! The house is in a great location with the beach directly across the street and there are views of the ocean from the deck and also from inside the home. Thank you for a lovely stay at Blue Heron!

Summary: Great location. Was missing a hair dryer and oven mitts. Chair at table and bar stool needed some work. Pool was great and so close to the gulf too. We had a great time.
